4 Unique Ways to Style Wedding Place Settings

If you’re a style focused couple (firstly hi, you’re in the right place!) your place settings are one of the best ways to add detail to your wedding and create that all important atmosphere. If you think about it, the longest time your guests will be sat looking at the same spot will be your wedding meal, so the table decor is one of the things they remember most. Get them right, and they can really show off your unique style and tastes - and make the most of that money you’ve spent on the details.

With all that in mind, you’ll need some inspiration right? This video shows you four quick, on-trend ways to style your place settings for your wedding tables.

Celestial Style PLACE SETTING

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, celestial weddings are WHERE. IT’S. AT. Our constellation pattern place cards are the stars of the show here (pun intended, apologies), with their shimmery navy paper and silver foil detailing, your guests are totally not leaving these behind.

Also featured here is a handmade galaxy table runner, which is really easy to achieve with some navy fabric, a paint brush and a spot of bleach. My top tip with styling any table decor is layers layers layers. Here I’ve used two contrasting plates to add a bit of interest, but you can also use plate chargers or place mats to achieve the same sort of thing. I’ve also added some little cut-out moon and star details, along with a pink linen napkin and some holographic cutlery.

I’ll never stop trying to make holographic weddings happen. If you’re not afraid of being a bit extra in your wedding decorating then this one’s for you. I’ve used a roll of holographic cellophane as a table runner with a Meri Meri holographic paper plate under a smaller millennial pink plate (again, all about the layers). The holographic place cards, are a great sassy keepsake for your guests. They come with personalisation, and are probably one of the most instagrammable things you could have on your wedding tables.

I finished off this look with some mini disco balls (obvs) and some holographic geometric shapes. You can see a similar style in action in this styled shoot with The UN-WEDDING.

One for the minimalists, this industrial style place setting has marble and rose gold accents with a patterned fabric napkin to bring the texture. Styling a plate and placemat slightly off-centre helps give your tablescape a more contemporary look. I’ve used a small square of thin copper as another accent underneath our marble and rose gold place card - and finished it off with some rose gold cutlery inside a pocket-folded napkin.

Colour lovers it’s your time to shine. A really lovely idea I saw recently was to combine place settings with thank you cards, so your guests can get a personalised note on the day from you (also saves you a job after the wedding, and a boatload of stamps - win win).

A roll of orange paper is great for a vibrant runner, and a contrasting napkin is the perfect pop of colour (also gotta get some Gen-Z yellow in somewhere right?). Finish with the thank you card, a colourful cut out place card and a single stem paper flower for the ultimate wow factor.
