6 Hygge Ideas for Winter Weddings
I'm having a moment with winter weddings, and with the continuing popularity of the concept of Hygge (that scandinavian celebration of all things cosy and snuggly) it looks like the rest of the world is on board too.
There are so many ways to bring hygge into your winter wedding day, here are just a few ideas.
1. S'more Wedding Favours
I'm in love with these S'more Love wedding favour kits by Custom Maed. S'mores aren't so much of a thing here in the UK, but we can toast a good marshmallow! Bonus points if you have an open fire at your venue for a group toasting session.
2. cosy bridal outfits
There's no reason to freeze on your wedding day! My favourite thing to wear on any day is a snuggly jumper and big wooly socks, so why not carry that over into your wedding outfit? This shoot featured on Mr & Mrs Unique is so perfect, I highly recommend clicking through to see the rest of it!
3. a Sparkler send off
What's more cosy and wintery than sparklers? Hand them out as favours and then gather your guests in a group for a beautiful moment later in the evening (not to mention a perfect photo opportunity - like in this beautiful wedding). These sparkler printables will help you with the favour bit.
4. night sky details
Winter weddings are the perfect backdrop for starry night themed decorations. These personalised constellation place cards are one of my very favourite designs, and can be ordered here.
5. hot chocolate bar
This idea alone is enough to sell me on a winter wedding! Set up a warming hot chocolate bar, complete with artisan marshmallows and toppings - your guests will thank you for it. Or of course you could always trade the hot chocolate for mulled wine!
6. Don't forget the candles
Candlelight is essential for setting a cosy atmosphere at your winter wedding. This post by wedding sparrow has some gorgeous inspiration. Find places in your venue where you can group lots of candles together for the ultimate hygge glow.
