Wedding designer, maker, cat cuddler, glitter thrower and Buffy watcher.
I believe that your wedding should be all about YOU and your own personal love story. But let's face it, the wedding industry is full of noise, nonsense and (dare I say it) chair covers. All you want is to reflect your own cool personal style on your big day, but it can be so hard to find exactly what you're looking for. I find it frustrating that so much of mainstream design for weddings is focused on traditions instead of you as a couple.
That’s why I work with creative, brave and big hearted couples to design extraordinary weddings that reflect them.
There are two ways to work with me on your wedding:
Want your wedding to be completely unique? We can work together one-on-one, with my bespoke design packages.
Or you can shop for anything you need a-la-carte from my ready-designed wedding collections.
I trained in theatre design at a drama school in London, and spent the next few years working as a freelance set and costume designer. In 2013 my friends got married, and asked me to design their wedding.
On their wedding day, I looked at what I’d created for them, and how much everyone loved and appreciated it, and a tiny spark was lit, and from then on I couldn’t get weddings out of my head. The thing I loved most was designing for people in their real life - showcasing all the quirks, their personal stories, their tastes - a whole day to celebrate their love story with everyone they know.
From then I was hooked, I set up my business on the side of my theatre freelance work, and stuck out two more miserable years until I finally “retired” from set design and went full time on my business. In my second year of being full time on weddings I tripled my revenue, and nothing has ever felt so right or so clear.
Empathy is one of my super powers and I think that’s what makes me so good at weddings - because I love really getting to know a couple and bringing out the things that make them special.
Emma is my middle name, not my business partner.
For our own wedding, my hubs Jake and I made a ribbon canopy that totalled over 4.5km of ribbon! I'm nothing if not ambitious.
Rachel Emma Studio is now a team of two! In 2018 Beth joined the team as our digital marketing apprentice.
